What is hypnosis and hypnotherapy? Hypnosis is a genuine physical state of deep relaxation allowing access to the unconscious mind so that desired changes can be made.
The unconscious mind is where our memories, thoughts and beliefs are stored and where most of our brain functions quite automatically. The sub-conscious is also the source of your emotions and therefore directs nearly all your behaviour.
Hypnosis enables the hypnotherapist to communicate with the unconscious mind so that therapeutic work can be carried out.
The subconscious mind is extremely powerful and if you wish to change there is no limit to what it can achieve.....change that is quick, lasting and effective. By using hypnosis you are empowering yourself to take control of your life and to unlock your full potential. Back to TopThe experience of being in hypnosis can be likened to the relaxed feeling you have when you are day dreaming or drifting off to sleep. You will feel very relaxed and will hear every word that is said. Back to TopAbsolutely not. You are in total control and aware of all your senses at all times. You can voluntarily leave the relaxed state should you wish to do so. Suggestions given during hypnosis can be accepted or rejected by the subconscious mind. If any suggestion is given that is in conflict with your moral code it will be rejected because the subconscious mind ALWAYS acts for your betterment. Back to TopApproximately 90-95% of the population can be hypnotized. Epileptics, people under the influence of alcohol or drug users, young children (probably below age 4) are not good hypnosis subjects. Stronger-minded and stronger-willed people are easier to hypnotize; not the other way around as is usually assumed.
You can achieve what you want to achieve using hypnosis. Back to TopIs it similar to stage hypnosis? No. Stage hypnotists work with approximately 5% of the population who are highly receptive to a stage hypnotists manipulation. The participants in these shows know exactly what they are doing and are enjoying every moment of it knowing it is their 15 minutes of fame. Back to TopSurely my willpower is enough to help me make the changes I want to make? Imagination will always win over willpower i.e. the subconscious mind will always win over the conscious mind. For instance pretend you have a piece of delicious chocolate cake in front of you. You consciously think to yourself "I don't want that cake, I'm on a diet and it’s full of calories". At the same time your unconscious mind is imagining how good it will taste..... all those lovely chocolatey tastes swirling round your mouth. The result being that you eat the cake. For this reason most diets are a waste of time...it is the imagination you have to employ to achieve what you desire.
Imagination is the language of hypnosis and is an amazing self help tool that once you have mastered you will never look back. What you imagine and how you imagine it will bring you the performance and outcome you want. This is where hypnosis comes in -it is the key to reprogramming the subconscious mind. Back to TopEveryone can benefit greatly with hypnotherapy. The association between the mind and body is a powerful one.
Your mind influences your health, behaviour and performance. With hypnotherapy there is no limit to what you can achieve. Our minds are so powerful and so under utilised. People from all walks of life use hypnotherapy to improve performance, reduce stress, get rid of unwanted habits, gain confidence, overcome fears and phobias, stop smoking, lose weight, improve sleep, pain management (especially child birth) and more. Back to TopHow many sessions will I need? This depends on the issues to be resolved. An indication of the number of sessions required, is given at the outset. You are under no obligation to take it further.
Fee per session is from £60........the initial consultation is free of charge with no obligation. Back to Top
